Dead Island: Definitive Collection coming to consoles, PC on 31 May

Dead Island: Retro Revenge is described as a "brand new stand-alone 16-bit game" based upon classic games of the past.

Dead Island publisher Deep Silver has today announced that the first two Dead Island games will be remastered and released on current-gen consoles and PC in one bundle under the title Dead Island: Definitive Collection.

Dead Island 2 is still alive, the last we heard, although its developer Yager dropped out past year.

The pack will also come with the retro-inspired sidescroller Dead Island: Retro Revenge. The games are being fully remastered, with improved visuals and all of the DLC released for them packed-in.

Available at the same time, Dead Island Definitive Edition, and Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition will each be available separately and as digital downloads for $19.99.

The original Dead Island was a surprise hit back in 2011, and really helped put Techland and Deep Silver on the map. Well, plenty of repackaged Dead Island of course. Let us know the comments below. Increase to equal quality level for seamless game experience.

The listing states that collection contains (presumably visually enhanced) versions of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, as well as a "brand new standalone 16-bit game" called Dead Island: Retro Revenge.
