Jennifer Lopez Predicts 'American Idol' 2016's Final Two
Before welcoming Young into the Top 8, Lopez said the decision had been "probably one of the most painful decisions" the judges had "had to make". This is downright unhealthy for everyone involved: my ears, their vocal chords, their parents' hearts, etc. You'd think the show would want its final stable of show ponies to neigh as well as possible, but at this point, Idol seems to be doing everything in its power to turn viewers away.
Immediately after wowing the audience with the joint performance of "Confident", the Top 10 left the stage and let Lovato do her thing. There is a New Orleans slang term, "Yea, you right" that no one has ever used on Idol before.
American Idol continues to bring tons of surprises! Tune in tonight at 8 PM EST!
The cameras on Stage 36 at the storied CBS Television City in Los Angeles provide you with the only view you have of "American Idol", while Billboard is in the studio to provide you with a weekly glimpse at what the cameras didn't - or couldn't - show you.
There were guest performances including Judge Harry Connick Jr. and Demi Lovato.
Ryan Seacrest gradually announced who was voted through to next week over the course of the episode, and the bottom three were announced at the end. Ryan Seacrest revealed that Gianna Isabella, Olivia Rox and Avalon Young were the three finalists who received the fewest votes.
The first singer to perform tonight, that is safe from elimination, is Dalton Rapattoni.
Dalton Rappatoni sang an arrangement of "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons that was just average compared to his usual standout performances. As HollywoodLife.com told you EXCLUSIVELY, we can expect to hear a new duet from the pair: "They are working on some music together that hopefully will give them another duet to do with each other and another song they can perform together during their tour", an insider revealed.
"I believe that is the Tristan America fell in love with", Lopez said. I don't think she actually needed to "belt" out the song lo loud. Jennifer: "You know, Dalton, you really understand the art of the show". Her afro's got a name, by the way. Did you like "Confident", or "Stone Cold" better? It was such an emotional performance, and the crowd couldn't get enough.
