Atlanta Hawks coast to victory over the Lakers
With three players out (Jordan Clarkson, Kobe Bryant, Lou Williams) Nick Young got his first start of the season but there wasn't much to watch.
Only scheduled to meet twice this season, this is their final battle and the Hawks are hoping that they can get a win to complete the series sweep over the Lakers. Julius Randle is grabbing 10 rebounds and Roy Hibbert is dishing 1.3 assists.
While Kobe Bryant's farewell tour might be the storyline that every Lakers fan and National Basketball Association fan is following, they should be following the emergence of rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell, who's been on an absolute tear as of late. We got out and ran, got steals and got rebounds.
Atlanta Hawks will face the Los Angeles Lakers this Friday and for Atlanta this game from the two straights has to be played at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. "Going into the game we knew it was going to be very tough".
Point guard D'Angelo Russell managed just seven points on 3-of-16 shooting, missing five of his six 3-point attempts.
Brandon Bass added 12 points off the bench for the Lakers.
There is nothing dubious about the Atlanta Hawks as the team is swarmed by flawless players and they are completely equipped to hold their power both at the frontcourt and backcourt. Horford has hit 17 straight free throws.
The third quarter would provide the Hawks a 20-point lead, and LA never found a way to threaten the visitors from that point forward, which is not to say that they threatened the Hawks at any point prior.
The Hawks were able to do just that for the most part on Friday night with a convincing 106-77 win over the Lakers at Staples Center.
The Hawks had three offensive rebounds and Kris Humphries had them all.
Kyle Korver was effective in the game, knocking down all four of his three-point attempts and finishing 5-6 from the field for 15 points in 29 minutes.
