Cavs Love out against Wizards
With or without Kevin Love, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a chance to beat the Washington Wizards, so resting him the star forward is a smart move by Tyronn Lue. James flew to Miami on Tuesday with his family as he spent some time in the warm weather. Washington is tied for ninth place in the East, a half-game behind eighth-place Detroit, and began a stretch of five of six on the road with a 104-98 win at Minnesota on Wednesday. It seems to be happening a bit sooner this time around. So, safe to say Love is at least in the running when James takes his frustrations out on Twitter on unknown targets.
If you, like me, saw stuff like that and wondered what the hell it was all about, here's what's up.
James also made reference to his work ethic, saying he is always the last to leave the gym, he can go wherever he wants and he arrived back in Cleveland two hours before practice. It will remain that way with Love at center. If the Cavs' players miss Kendrick Perkins for all the intangibles he brought as a respected veteran with championship experience and see Sasha Kaun, who has barely registered a stat this season, as his unworthy replacement, that's one thing. "I think that's the main reason", Coach Randy Wittman spoke about his team. Richard Jefferson ended up starting at small forward. The Wizards will play 13 of their final 22 games on the road.... The Wizards turned the ball over 16 times tonight (10 in the first half), many of which were live ball turnovers.
The Cavs opened the game on a quick 16-7 run. Shumpert's shooting percentage dipped to. He's versatile enough to handle the position, and Markieff Morris isn't going to dominate James in the post or anything. I'm not really anxious about his shots and his scoring.
This week gave us potentially one of the most significant events of the Cavaliers season. Since the All-Star break he has averaged 18.5 points and 12 rebounds. He responded with eight assists and spread them around.
Besides James, the other major buy-in has to come from the bigs in Love, Mozgov, Tristan Thompson and the newly acquired Channing Frye.
Stephen A. Smith: Could James be insinuating the analyst conveyed a flawed report on Irving, and hasn't backed down from it?
The simplest explanation is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I guess Perk is a really good friend? Timofey Mozgov seemingly remembered to bring his hands with him tonight and ended up having one of his better offensive showings.
